After passing inspection, we walk you through operation, charging schedules, and energy-saving tips for your new setup.
EV Charger FAQs
How much does EV charger installation cost in Kansas City?
A NEMA 14-50 outlet installation typically costs $500–$1,200. A hardwired Level 2 station runs $800–$2,000 installed, depending on your panel capacity and the distance from your panel to the charger location. If a panel upgrade is needed, add $1,800–$3,500.
Do I need a panel upgrade to install an EV charger?
Not always. If your panel has at least 40 spare amps and is a 200-amp service, you likely won't need an upgrade. Homes with 100-amp panels almost always require an upgrade to safely add a 40–50 amp EV circuit. We assess this during our free site visit.
Can you install chargers for all EV brands?
Yes. We install charging solutions for Tesla, Ford (Mach-E, F-150 Lightning), Chevrolet (Bolt, Equinox EV), Rivian, BMW, Hyundai, Kia, and all other electric vehicles. We work with any charger brand — Tesla Wall Connector, ChargePoint, Grizzl-E, JuiceBox, and more.
How long does installation take?
Most EV charger installations are completed in 4–6 hours in a single visit. If a panel upgrade is required, it may take a full day. We schedule the city inspection and handle all permit paperwork.
Are there tax credits for EV charger installation?
Yes. The federal Alternative Fuel Vehicle Refueling Property Credit (Section 30C) provides up to 30% of installation costs (up to $1,000 for residential). Check with your tax advisor for current eligibility.
Is it safe to charge an EV in my garage?
Absolutely, when installed by a licensed electrician. We install a dedicated circuit with proper breaker sizing, GFCI protection where required, and wiring rated for continuous high-amperage loads. This eliminates fire risk from shared circuits or inadequate wiring.
